Philip Rathle is the CTO of Neo4j, the graph database & AI leader valued at over $2 billion. Neo4j is trusted by more than 84 of the Fortune 100, thousands of startups, and organizations of all sizes in between. Since he joined Neo4j in 2012 to lead product, Neo4j has become one of the largest and fastest-growing new-generation database technologies, fueled by open source, open standards, and AI’s need for knowledge and context. Philip helped spearhead the creation of ISO GQL - the first new international database query language standard in nearly 40 years - cementing graph technology as a generational shift on par with the introduction of SQL. In his piece, "The GraphRAG Manifesto," he bridges these standards with the future of GenAI, describing how practitioners can solve for AI accuracy and trust by using graphs alongside LLMs to address high-stakes problems. Based in Silicon Valley, Philip has spent 30 years working in data and databases, as a consultant, founder, and product & technology leader. Today he works at the intersection of knowledge & context, databases, and AI, to advance the state of the database layer inside the AI stack.
