A graduate of ESSEC Business School, Clara Chappaz began her career in Asia working for various e-commerce startups. In 2018, she earned an MBA from Harvard. She then joined Vestiaire Collective, the Paris-based platform for buying and selling second-hand luxury products, as Commercial Director. In 2021, she took the lead of the French Tech mission, which supports the development of innovative tech startups in France, in line with government priorities. On the proposal of the Prime Minister, the President of the Republic appointed Clara Chappaz as Secretary of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, under the Minister of Higher Education and Research, on September 21, 2024. On December 23, 2024, she was promoted to Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, attached to the Minister of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, in François Bayrou's government.
