Ambassador for Digital Affairs and Artificial Intelligence, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France

French Government
, 2026
As Ambassador for Digital Affairs and AI (Ambassadrice pour le numérique et l'intelligence artificielle), Clara is based at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (Quai d'Orsay). Unlike her previous role as minister, where she made domestic policy (regulation, funding, legislation), she now represents France internationally on all digital and AI issues. Concretely, this means: leading France's positions in multilateral negotiations (G7, G20, UN, OECD), representing France at international tech summits (AI Summit India, etc.), coordinating with foreign counterparts on digital governance, carrying France's diplomatic voice on topics like AI regulation, data sovereignty, digital rights, and crypto/blockchain frameworks. She succeeded Henri Verdier, who held the role since 2018. She reports to the Foreign Minister, not the Economy Minister — so the lens is geopolitics and diplomacy, not domestic economic policy.
